Algebra 1 Summer Readiness Course

Description: In this 5-week course, students will solidify their learning from Math 8 and be introduced to some of the main topics in Algebra 1. We will cover Linear Functions, Inequalities, Systems of Equations and Inequalities, Exponential Functions, and Exponent Rules and Rational Exponents.

Algebra 1 is typically a challenging course for lots of reasons. The purpose of this course is to pre-teach and expose students to topics they will see during the course of Algebra 1, and give them the tools and prior knowledge to deepen their understanding, instead of learning these topics for the first time.

This course includes:

• 2 meetings a week over 5 weeks(on Zoom)

• Collaboration with 5 - 15 other students

• Google Classroom Access

  • Guided Notes

  • Practice Problems

  • Weekly Quizzes

  • Access to course materials through the academic school year.

Access to a printer is recommended.

Note: A minimum of 5 students is required for each session to run.
